A pressing practice where the first defender learns to approach on a curved line so the cover shadow blocks the central pivot.

Organization

Use a passer, two outside build-up players, one pivot and two or three pressers. Ball circulates outside. The first presser curves the run to force play away while screening the pivot.

Approach from the correct side | Curve the final steps | Keep the pivot in the cover shadow | Second defender protects the next central lane | Press under control, not in a straight sprint

  • Make the pivot mobile between two central pockets.

Regressions

  • Use a fixed pivot and slower ball circulation.
