Organization

GK starts 6–8m from goal. On cue, server moves the ball backward and shoots or lofts toward the upper part of goal as GK recovers.

Coaching Points

Use quick crossover or drop steps | Keep eyes on the ball | Do not backpedal blindly | Re-set before take-off | Tip safely away if holding is unrealistic

Progressions

  • Vary between high shot and driven shot after the retreat.

Regressions

  • Predetermine a slower high service.
