7v6 Decision Attack — 10 Can Bounce, Carry or Release Winger

A game-realistic final-third exercise where the 10 receives between lines with three genuine options. The attacking team must read the defenders rather than follow a predetermined pattern.

Organization

Use a 50x44m attacking area with a full-size goal and goalkeeper. Seven attackers face six defenders. The 10 operates between lines, with a striker ahead, two wingers and supporting midfielders. Every attack must attempt to find the 10 before the final penetration.

Coaching Points

10 scans before receiving | Bounce if pressure arrives from behind | Carry if the central lane opens | Release the winger if the block collapses inward | Supporting players react to the 10's choice rather than moving automatically

Progressions

  • Limit the 10 to two touches when receiving facing forward.

Regressions

  • Use five defenders and give the 10 a protected first touch.
