Organization

Play 5v5 to 7v7 directionally. After a regain, the new team has six seconds to counter. If defenders recover and stop penetration, the possession team can score a bonus point by recycling backward, switching side and re-entering the final zone with a second wave.

Coaching Points

Counter first if space is open | Recognise when numbers have recovered | Do not force a low-percentage final pass | Recycle to a secure player | Second wave attacks a different lane

Progressions

  • Limit the number of passes allowed between the recycle and second entry.

Regressions

  • Pause briefly after the counter is stopped so the second-wave shape can be coached.
