Organization

3 BLUE vs 3 RED. Each team attacks the opponent mini-goal. After a goal, ball out, or clear restart, the team receiving the new ball starts from its defensive end. The opponent must immediately press high. Pressing team: 1) nearest player presses ball, 2) second defender blocks central option, 3) third defender covers/protects depth, 4) team stays compact, 5) force play wide or backward, 6) regain possession as high as possible, 7) attack goal immediately after regain. If the first press is broken, players recover and reorganise without stopping the game.

Coaching Points

Press immediately after the opponent's restart — the nearest player closes the ball without hesitation. Block central options with the second defender and force play wide or backward into a predictable lane. Stay compact as a unit — the three defenders move together so no gap opens between them. Recognise pressing triggers: a slow pass, a poor touch, a head down, or a ball played backward under pressure. Attack the goal instantly after a high regain — the opponent is disorganised for only a few seconds.

  • slower restart
  • pressing team starts slightly deeper
  • longer regain-to-score window
