Organization

Mark a central rectangle with two deeper midfield positions and two advanced pockets. Build from a back line into the box against a compact midfield press. Score by finding either advanced midfielder and then connecting forward.

Coaching Points

The four midfielders should not flatten onto one line | Create diagonal angles inside the box | One advanced player can drop while the other stays high | Move defenders before playing through | Keep an outlet outside the box

Progressions

  • Allow defenders to man-mark one advanced midfielder and reward rotations that free the other.

Regressions

  • Create protected pockets for the two advanced midfielders.
