Organization

Divide the attacking half into five vertical lanes. Build with a back three and two midfielders, then position five advanced players across left wide, left half-space, centre, right half-space and right wide lanes. Circulate against an organised defending block.

Coaching Points

One advanced player per vertical lane | Vary heights rather than standing flat | Half-space players connect inside and outside | Back three maintain rest-defence spacing | Switch quickly when one side becomes overloaded

Progressions

  • Remove fixed lane restrictions after players demonstrate the occupation principles.

Regressions

  • Keep the five lanes fixed and use passive defenders.
