Organization

Players work in pairs 12–18m apart with a 2m target gate between each receiver and partner. One player serves a controlled bounce. The receiver adjusts feet and passes on the rise through the gate. Alternate feet and roles.

Coaching Points

Read bounce height early | Adjust with small steps | Contact immediately after the bounce | Keep the ankle firm | Prioritise accuracy and pass weight over power

Progressions

  • Vary bounce height, angle and distance so the player must adjust technique.

Regressions

  • Allow the receiver to self-serve the bounce before passing.
