Staggered Bounce Triangle — Third Player Changes Height

A triangular passing practice where the third player does not wait at a fixed cone. Instead, the third player changes depth before the bounce pass to create a new passing angle.

Develop third-player support by changing the height of the final receiver while a bounce combination is played.

Coaching Points

Third player moves before the bounce is completed | Change height, not only width | Set pass should return at an angle | Passer looks beyond the wall player before receiving the set | Final receiver takes the ball on the move

Progressions

  • Add a passive defender who can screen the third player's first position.

Regressions

  • Keep the third player on a fixed line and remove the depth change.
