Organization

Play a directional 6v6 or 7v7 game with wide channels. Encourage one side to attack with winger, fullback and midfielder. The opposite fullback remains connected to centre-backs and midfield cover, ready to defend an immediate switch or counter.

Coaching Points

Weak-side fullback stays goal-side of the far winger | Maintain connection with nearest centre-back | Do not become too narrow to defend the switch | Adjust as the ball travels | Join only when rest-defence balance is secure

Progressions

  • Allow immediate counters into the weak-side channel after every regain.

Regressions

  • Freeze turnovers and coach the weak-side position during attacking circulation.
