Organization

Use a 35x30 m build-up area split into two vertical channels. Six build-up players circulate against four pressers. The possession team scores by finding the free centre-back and then playing into a target line beyond the press.

Coaching Points

Stretch the first pressing line; Recognise which centre-back is free; Use the goalkeeper-side angle without forcing play; Pass with enough speed to beat pressure; Move immediately after passing

Progressions

  • Limit the two centre-backs to two touches and allow pressers to score in mini goals after a regain.

Regressions

  • Increase the width and allow unlimited touches.
