6v6 Central Lockout — Do Not Re-Enter the Same Zone

A possession game with a marked central zone that can be used as a connector but not repeatedly. Once the ball leaves the zone, it must circulate outside before central access becomes available again.

Create continuous movement by preventing the ball from re-entering the same central zone immediately after it exits.

Organization

Play 6v6 in a 34x28m area with a 10x10m central square. A team scores a point for receiving in the central zone and then connecting outside. The central zone locks for that team until two outside passes are completed.

Coaching Points

Use central access when it creates an advantage | Exit the zone quickly after receiving | Outside players expand when the centre locks | Re-open a new central angle rather than waiting in the same spot | Scan the next outside connection before entering

Progressions

  • Make the central receiver one touch.

Regressions

  • Require only one outside pass before the centre becomes available again.
