Organization

Create two adjacent 22x18m grids separated by a 4m transfer channel. Play 6v6 with possession beginning in one grid and players free to move between grids. The ball may only transfer to the far grid after three completed passes in the current grid.

Coaching Points

Use the three passes to attract pressure | Far-side players prepare before the transfer becomes legal | Transfer with enough weight to beat shifting defenders | Supporting players move through the channel after the ball | Do not transfer just because the count is complete if the lane is closed

Progressions

  • After the transfer, require a one-touch first action in the new grid.

Regressions

  • Reduce the unlock to two passes and widen the transfer channel.
