Coaching Points

Get under the flight early | Cushion rather than stop the ball dead | Knock down into the support player's path | Support player arrives underneath the drop | Third action should move forward with tempo

Progressions

  • Add a defender behind the receiving player who can challenge after the first aerial contact.

Regressions

  • Use hand-served aerial balls from shorter distance and allow the support player two touches.
