Organization

Use a three-zone pitch with a back line, pivot, two fullbacks and advanced targets. On one side the fullback moves high outside the winger; on the opposite side the fullback tucks inside. Circulate the ball and switch the asymmetry when possession changes side.

Coaching Points

Do not send both fullbacks to the same height | Inside fullback supports the pivot | High fullback stays wide enough to stretch the block | Switch roles as the ball moves | Protect rest-defence balance

Progressions

  • Add a live front-three press that can jump differently depending on the fullback positions.

Regressions

  • Use passive pressing references and rehearse the shape changes without turnovers.
