Organization

Rectangular or square activation area. Each player starts with a ball. Players move freely throughout the area using inside/outside touches, sole manipulation, controlled carries, changes of direction, turns and short accelerations. Coach progressively increases intensity. No fixed lines or queues — the area should encourage continuous movement. Players must keep awareness of other players, free space and boundaries, avoiding collisions without stopping.

Coaching Points

Keep the ball close. Use both feet. Use different surfaces of the foot. Keep head up regularly. Recognize free space. Change direction before space closes. Accelerate after the turn. Soften touches when traffic increases. Avoid collisions. Maintain continuous movement. Gradually raise intensity. Quality before maximum speed.

Progressions

  • Increase movement speed
  • Reduce area size
  • Coach changes the required turn
  • Weak-foot emphasis
  • Short acceleration after each turn
  • Introduce a simple visual movement cue

Regressions

  • Enlarge area
  • Reduce speed
  • Fewer required turn types
  • Unrestricted foot usage
  • Longer preparation time
