Organization

Start with an attack around the box against a defending unit. The coach creates or encourages a blocked shot that rebounds toward midfield. If defenders secure the loose ball, they counter through two wide mini-goals while the original attackers counterpress.

Coaching Points

Do not admire the block | Nearest defender attacks the loose ball | First secure touch should face away from pressure | Wide runners open immediately | Original attackers react with counterpressure

Progressions

  • Allow the attacking team to recycle the rebound if defenders fail to secure the first touch.

Regressions

  • Coach directs the blocked ball into a predictable central zone.
