A live 1v1 duel focused on selling one direction with body shape before changing direction at speed. The attacker scores by escaping through one of two side gates.

Organization

Create a 10x10m square with scoring gates on the left and right sides. Attacker starts centrally with the ball, defender two metres away. Score by dribbling through either gate under control.

Coaching Points

Drive directly at the defender | Sell the fake with hips and shoulders | Make the change close enough to affect the defender | Push the ball into the new space | Accelerate for the first three steps

Progressions

  • Reduce the area or require a named change-of-direction move before scoring.

Regressions

  • Increase the gate width and let the defender begin passively.
