GK Cross Decision — Claim or Stay

Organization

Use one goalkeeper, two wide servers and two or three attackers in the box. Deliver varied crosses from both sides. Some balls should be clearly claimable while others should force the goalkeeper to stay.

Coaching Points

Start in a position that allows forward movement | Read the flight before committing | Call early and loudly when claiming | If staying, reset quickly for the finish | Do not attack balls outside realistic range

  • Add live defenders and attackers competing for every delivery.

Regressions

  • Use unopposed attackers and clearly separated claim/stay deliveries.
