One-Touch Exit After Carry — Dribbler Commits, Receiver Releases Immediately

A passing-and-carrying combination where the receiver's job is to exploit the space created by the dribbler. The first player carries toward a defender, releases late and the receiver must play first time into the newly opened exit lane.

Connect a ball-carrying action with a first-time release after the carrier commits pressure.

Organization

Use a 18x12m area with one active defender centrally and two exit targets. The first attacker carries toward the defender, passes to a supporting receiver once the defender commits, and the receiver plays one touch to the free target.

Coaching Points

Carry close enough to fix the defender | Release before the defender can tackle | Receiver scans both exits early | First-time pass uses the space just created | Supporting target arrives on a clear angle

Progressions

  • Allow the defender to recover and press the first-time receiver.

Regressions

  • Use a passive defender and predetermine the exit target.
