Organization

Mark a 20x14m channel with an outside lane and inside support lane. The centre-back or midfielder plays through to the fullback, who feeds the winger ahead. A defender can recover from the touchline side as the winger sets first time inside to the third player.

Coaching Points

Break the line with enough pace on the first pass | Winger checks inside support before receiving | Set across the direction of pressure | Third player arrives on a different line | Move immediately after the set to support the next action

Progressions

  • Make the winger one touch and allow the recovering defender to intercept the inside set.

Regressions

  • Remove the defender and allow the winger two touches before the set.
