Organization

Play 5v5 or 6v6 in a 36x28m area with two marked far-side pockets, one on each flank. After a regain, the new possession team scores a bonus if its first or second pass reaches the pocket opposite the turnover location.

Coaching Points

Scan the far side while defending | Secure the regain before forcing the escape | Opposite-side player prepares before the tackle is won | Use a bounce pass if the direct far pass is blocked | Expand after reaching the far pocket

Progressions

  • Require the far-pocket receiver to play forward with the next action.

Regressions

  • Allow the far pocket to be found within three passes instead of two.
