Organization

Set a 28x22m attacking area with central passer, blind-side runner, one defender reference and goalkeeper. Passer receives from a support player, opens toward one side, then reverses the ball into the runner moving behind the defender's opposite shoulder.

Coaching Points

Runner stays out of the defender's sightline until the last moment | Passer sells the first direction with body shape and eyes | Reverse pass is played into the runner's stride | Runner accelerates only after the defender shifts | Finish quickly before the defence can recover

Progressions

  • Make the defender active and allow them to choose whether to track the runner or press the passer.

Regressions

  • Use a mannequin and rehearse the disguise without live pressure.
