Organization

Set a central rectangle with an attacking 6 underneath and a 10 between lines. Two defending midfielders work against supporting passers. One defender screens the 10 while the partner decides when to jump to the 6 as the ball travels.

Coaching Points

Do not both press the same player | Screening defender stays connected to the 10 | Press the 6 on a controllable pass | Cover the space behind the pressing midfielder | Switch roles when the ball changes side

Progressions

  • Allow the 10 to rotate wide and force defenders to exchange responsibilities dynamically.

Regressions

  • Keep the 10 in a fixed pocket and slow the circulation.
