Organization

Place a central receiver between two diagonal target gates with a pressure cone or passive defender in front. The receiver takes a firm pass, uses the sole to pull the ball laterally across the body, then passes diagonally through the far gate to the next player.

Coaching Points

Scan the far target before the ball arrives | Sole contact pulls the ball out of the pressure line | Keep hips balanced during the drag | Pass immediately once the new lane opens | Use both feet and both directions

Progressions

  • Use a live defender who can block either the initial side or the diagonal exit.

Regressions

  • Predetermine the pull direction and widen the target gates.
