Develop coordinated attacking runs and finishing from a wide delivery, with particular emphasis on attacking the far-post finishing zone. This is NOT a cutback drill — the delivery travels across or forward into the penalty area, not backward from the byline.
Save time planning sessions with FUTNIVO.
Each repetition: 1. Wide server starts with or receives the ball in an advanced wide position. 2. Three attacking players coordinate their runs — Runner 1 attacks near-post space, Runner 2 attacks central/penalty-spot space, Runner 3 delays slightly and attacks far-post space. 3. Wide player delivers across the penalty area (driven, low, or clipped depending on progression). 4. Far-post runner times arrival to attack the space behind the defensive line. 5. Finish quickly. 6. Rotate attacking roles. The three runners must not attack the same line or same space. The far-post player should often arrive slightly later than the near-post runner. Do not start all runners already standing inside finishing zones.
Scan delivery before starting run. Do not attack the box too early. Near-post runner attacks first space aggressively. Central runner occupies second line. Far-post runner delays and arrives on blind side. Keep separation between all three runs. Server looks before delivering. Deliver into space, not directly at stationary player. Attack ball with conviction. Finish with one touch when possible.
