Organization

Set an attacking corner with normal box runners and three designated rest-defence players outside the area. The defending team is instructed to clear toward two or three counter targets. Once the clearance is won, play becomes live and the three rest defenders must delay until teammates recover.

Coaching Points

Rest defenders start on different lines, not flat | First player pressures the counter ball | Other two protect central and depth lanes | Do not all attack the clearance | Recovering attackers sprint inside the ball line

Progressions

  • Give the defending team two fast outlet players and allow immediate one-touch release.

Regressions

  • Use one fixed clearance target and start recovery players closer.
