Organization

Play 5v5 to 7v7 around a final-third zone with two counter mini-goals outside the area. The attacking team tries to create a finish. On turnover, the new possession team scores by finding a clean first outlet and countering through a mini-goal.

Coaching Points

Nearest player pressures the ball immediately | Second players lock central outlets | Do not all chase into the same space | Back players step forward to compress | If the first press is broken, recover rather than continue blindly

Progressions

  • Give the regaining team two wide outlet players who can be used immediately.

Regressions

  • Reduce the outlet options and give the attacking team one extra rest-defence player.
