8v8+2 Positional Game — Switch Through the Pivot
A large positional game with two neutral pivots that rewards switching the point of attack through central support.

Organization
Mark a 50x40 m area with left, central and right vertical channels. Play 8v8 with two neutral pivots operating mainly in the central channel. A point is awarded when possession moves from one wide channel to the other via a pivot.
Coaching Points
Maintain width before the switch; Position pivots on different lines; Play through pressure, not into pressure; Arrive in the weak side as the ball travels; Keep rest-defence balance behind the ball
Progressions
- Require the switch to reach the opposite wide channel within three passes after using a pivot.
Regressions
- Allow pivots to move freely and increase area size.
